The challenge
Alhóndiga has told Granada's history in print since 2017, but its website was a WordPress install that only displayed articles: readers couldn't buy issues or subscribe, the cultural agenda lived elsewhere, and the pages had none of the editorial care of the printed magazine.
The solution
We built a new Next.js website with its own database and migrated all the WordPress content: articles, authors, notable figures and nearly a hundred agenda events. The editorial team publishes from a custom dashboard with a visual editor and scheduled articles. We added a shop for issues and digital and print subscriptions with Redsys payments, automatic invoices and shipments registered through the Correos API, with images served from Amazon S3 and CloudFront.
The outcome
The magazine finally has a website that matches its print edition, and it sells: issues, the card deck of notable Granadans and subscriptions that unlock full articles. The editors publish on their own, every page has its own social sharing image and the site launches ready to rank on Google.
